BBMP Chief Commissioner Maheswar Rao confirmed this mandate on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An E-Khata is an electronic property certificate that maintains crucial ownership information within an online database. This digitization aims to simplify the approval process for property owners and developers alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Effective July 1, the procedure requiring the forwarding of property ownership records to the BBMP&#8217;s Revenue Department for manual verification will also be discontinued. This change is expected to significantly reduce bureaucratic hurdles and accelerate the approval timeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Commissioner Rao elaborated on the &#8220;Trust &amp; Verify&#8221; approach that will govern preliminary plan approvals. Under this new system, approvals will be confirmed or rejected by the respective assistant directors (town planning) within a specified timeframe, with valid reasons provided for any rejections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The BBMP currently offers online building plan approval services through its EoDB-OBPS software. Furthermore, the Revenue Department of the BBMP has already implemented the E-Aasthi software, which is actively being used to issue E-Khatas for properties situated within the BBMP limits.
